Whether you like the design of the conservatory, orangery or all-glass extension, there is no doubt that they make for great entertaining spaces. The glass extension links the home and the outdoors and makes a great additional glass entertaining space, especially in the warmer seasons. With ever-changeable and unpredictable weather in the UK, having a sunroom or glass extension will give you the additional room you need to entertain whatever the weather. We have helped many of our customers to create stunning entertaining spaces over the years, whether it be to extend the kitchen, add a dining area, make a chilled area to relax with drinks or even create a new open-plan kitchen-dining-living area that is large enough to cook, eat and entertain friends and family.
Here are just some of our favourites to give you inspiration for your own ultimate glass entertaining space.
A large open-plan gable-ended conservatory dining and living extension
This large conservatory extension was added to create a new living dining space off of the kitchen. The external wall was opened up to create a free-flowing open-plan room. The large lean-to roof with a gable end lets in lots of natural light and makes a beautiful feature. The customer has decorated it with a contemporary design, choosing to keep the space light and airy, but with a touch of colour in the orange-textured featured wall. Double doors open out onto the patio which leads out to a beautifully landscaped garden. The flow of this space creates a natural link between the entertaining space and the garden, perfect for summer BBQs.
An orangery haven for relaxing and enjoying drinks and nibbles with friends
A gorgeous space separate from the main house but accessible via a door, this orangery extension is the perfect area to relax and enjoy the company of great friends. The full-length orangery lantern roof lets it loads of light, and the full glass windows give a full-width view across the garden. The choice to keep the stone wall exposed as well as the addition of rattan furniture and leafy green plants creates a chilled environment to kick back and relax.
The ultimate luxury open-plan orangery dining extension to the main living space
This customer’s orangery space was added as an extension to their large lounge area to create an open-plan dining-living area that is perfect for parties and entertaining. The large lantern glass roof is a real focal point which casts beautiful light across the large oak dining table. Contemporary spotlighting can be dimmed to create a more intimate atmosphere for evening dinner parties. The French doors off the orangery open out onto a smaller side patio area, private enough to enjoy the hot tub with a glass of champagne in hand. The main living space also opens out onto a larger terrace via the full-width bi-fold doors, creating the perfect free-flowing space for BBQs or drinks outside in the evening, before retiring to the comfort of the lounge and its plush leather corner sofa late into the evening.
A contemporary frameless glass kitchen-dining extension
This customer wanted a much more contemporary look and so chose a premium frameless glass box extension design to create a brand new kitchen-dining room. The full glass extension lets in lots of natural light but is created from temperature and UV control structural glass to ensure that the room stays comfortable all year round. The thick glazed ‘new generation glass’ helps to keep the heat in during winter and to keep the room cooler in summer. The UV control properties also reduce both glare and the UV rays that can penetrate the glass. The large frameless glass double doors swing out onto a modern deck area and open to lay completely flat back against the glass walls. The customer has carried on the contemporary theme with their minimalistic and low-maintenance garden design to minimise gardening and maximise time for BBQs and time with friends in their new extension.
