We had the pleasure of designing an elegant country style conservatory extension as a relaxing space for our customers to enjoy and feel connected with their beautiful cottage garden. This timber framed lean-to style conservatory is simple and understated, but really adds to the overall country aesthetic of the original property. The glass extension has been connected to the home with a timber painted door on the back wall for ease of access, and the front aspect opens up to the beautiful garden through fully retracting double doors leading to a stone step down onto the white gravel path the winds through the manicured lawns.
Painted in an off white to tie in with the cottage window frames, the conservatory makes use of an external wall from an extension at the back of the home and also the side wall of the property, leaving just the front and left side aspect as full height glass with hardwood timber frames and panelling. The side of the conservatory structure includes 3 smaller opening windows to allow ventilation and fresh air in on days when it isn’t warm enough to have the doors open. The glass panelled roof slants down towards the double patio doors and creates a stylish beam effect internally. All glass installed is our New Generation Glass which offers superior temperature and light control, reducing the glare and heat in summer, and keeping the warmth in during the colder months. The glass also offers protection against harmful UV rays, safeguarding the customer and furniture from fading in the sun.
Inside the conservatory is decorated in fresh neutral tones to keep the space light and airy. The customer has chosen elegant country furniture, floral accessories and finishing touches to create a country cottage look. The sun light floods the space creating a comfortable warmth and opening the patio doors wide creates a connection to the surrounding garden and invites in the fresh air and a gentle breeze on warm days. The choice of white stone floor tiles fits in with the country décor perfectly, while being practical for ease of cleaning any muddy paw prints that might appear! The addition of this sunroom has created a sunny haven to read, enjoy a pot of tea or just relax listening to bird song and taking in the garden views.
