One of the questions we get asked regularly is “will I be able to use my conservatory all year round?”. Typically glass rooms have had a reputation for being unbearably hot in summer and freezing cold in winter. Plus, the glare and harmful UV rays that are let in can make the room too bright to enjoy and harmful to you and fade your furniture and décor. The use of cheap glazing without any specialist thermal control technology by some conservatory installers has rendered older and even still some current conservatories unusable for most of the year, due to the extremes of the British weather. When you invest in your glass extension, you want to be able to get the maximum use out of it and enjoy it in comfort. That is why we invested our focus into finding a glazing product that would solve these issues and make our customer’s conservatories and orangeries useable all year round.
year round conservatory use
Will I be able to use my conservatory or orangery all year round?
Yes, you will be able to use your conservatory or orangery extension all year round as long as you choose a superior temperature control glass alongside good insulation and efficient heating options.
New Generation Glass exclusive to Room Outside
We were the very first company to exclusively introduce the revolutionary solar controlled Wonderglass™ into the UK market from Four Seasons Sunrooms in the USA in 1999. This has now been developed further and we believe that our New Generation Glass leads the field today, with its far superior specification, reflecting heat and light back to its source to keep your glass room at the optimum temperature throughout the seasons. NGG offers unsurpassed solar control alongside outstanding thermal performance, making this the best product in its class. These temperature control properties combined with self-cleaning technology makes our glass perfect for the extreme demands of a room built entirely of glass.
Thermally Insulated
Using warm edge technology with a spacer bar that is up to 950 times less conductive than aluminium, increases the internal temperatures around the edges, and vastly improving insulation. The U-Value, which is the value that measures heat loss and gain, is under 1.0 depending on the option selected by our designers, (measured in Watts per m2 per kelvin) the lower the U value, the warmer in winter the room will be. The glass has a specially developed Low-E coating, and the double-glazed units are also filled with Argon gas to further keep your room insulated.
Heat and glare-reducing
Our NGG roof units will reflect up to 86% of the sun’s rays, meaning that the sun’s heat is reflected or absorbed by the glass, reducing heat build-up in the summer months. The glass will also absorb almost all the harmful UV rays keeping your family safe and helping to protec your furniture from fading. No other conservatory roof glass can compete with this level of performance.
